Client Description
A NASDAQ-listed AI compute and data center infrastructure company and full-stack partner of a leading GPU manufacturer. The company deploys high-performance GPU clusters globally across the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia, serving leading AI labs, hyperscalers, and enterprise clients. They are building out Singapore as the operational anchor for their Asia business - a lean, high-growth environment that is explicitly AI-native in how it operates.
Role Description
Singapore (hybrid) | Reports to COO | Permanent, full-time | English + Mandarin required
The opportunity: First HR hire on the ground in Asia. Covers Singapore (in-house), Hong Kong (via external HR outsourcing partner), and PRC-based contractors. Operations-heavy, compliance-critical.
Key Responsibilities
HR Ops: Full employee lifecycle, Singapore employment compliance (MOM, CPF, IRAS, EP/S Pass), HRIS, employee relations
China/cross-border: Contractor agreements, PE risk, classification (IIT/social insurance), FESCO/EOR/labour dispatch coordination
Payroll & benefits: Run SG payroll in-house; review HK payroll (outsourced); manage contractor payments; administer benefits across both offices
Office & admin: Lease, vendors, IT/facilities; light exec travel support
Policy & AI workflows: Draft/maintain employee handbook and HR policies; design and deploy AI-augmented workflows using tools like Claude, Notion AI, Zapier, n8n — this is a hard expectation, not a nice-to-have
Light TA support: Interview scheduling, offer letters, onboarding logistics (no active sourcing)
Requirements
3–5 years as HR Generalist/Executive in Singapore
Bilingual: business-level English and Mandarin (written + spoken)
Strong SG employment law knowledge (MOM, CPF, IRAS, EP/S Pass)
Working familiarity with HK employment basics (Employment Ordinance, MPF, IR56)
Hands-on exposure to China contractor/employment arrangements
Demonstrable AI fluency — proven workflows built with LLMs or automation tools
