Field Process Engineer, Senior/Staff (Dry Etch/CVD Thin Film) - Semiconductor

We are seeking Senior/Staff Field Process Engineers (Multiple headcounts) to join our field applications team, supporting customers in advanced semiconductor manufacturing environments. Candidates with CVD Thin Film or Dry Etch who thrive at the intersection of deep process expertise and customer-facing technical leadership will be most suitable.

As a key technical resource embedded at customer sites, you will be responsible for process ownership, equipment performance optimization, and driving yield improvement initiatives in collaboration with both customer engineering teams and our internal R&D and product groups.

Process Engineering & Customer Support

  • Serve as the primary on-site technical resource for assigned customer accounts, owning day-to-day process performance and equipment health
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting for process excursions, yield excursions, and equipment-related defectivity issues
  • Lead process qualification activities for new chambers, tool installations, chamber rebuilds, and process modules
  • Execute and analyze DOEs to optimize process windows and improve process capability (Cpk)
  • Support customer ramp activities, technology transfers, and process node transitions

Collaboration & Escalation

  • Act as the technical bridge between customer process/integration teams and internal product engineering, R&D, and applications groups
  • Document customer issues, escalation timelines, and resolution steps using CRM and internal ticketing systems
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations, process review packages, and issue closure reports to customer management
  • Collaborate with customer and internal metrology teams to correlate in-situ and ex-situ data for process control

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 5 to 8 years of hands-on semiconductor process engineering experience in CVD thin film or dry etch, in a fab or equipment supplier environment
  • Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot complex process and equipment issues in a high-volume manufacturing setting
  • Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC), data analysis, and DOE methodologies
  • Strong working knowledge of wafer-level metrology tools (ellipsometry, SEM, profilometry, or equivalent)
  • Ability to work independently at customer sites with minimal supervision and strong self-management skills
