Position Overview
This role involves hands-on responsibility for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of building infrastructure. You'll handle routine checks, respond swiftly to operational issues, and support the ongoing management of key systems including HVAC, electrical setups, building automation systems (BAS), emergency power supplies, and life safety mechanisms. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining and servicing critical systems such as chilled water, ventilation, and other M&E (mechanical and electrical) components. Strong troubleshooting capabilities and independent problem-solving are vital for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and support a wide range of building systems including power distribution, cooling systems, standby generators, fire protection systems, and equipment supporting data floor operations.
Conduct regular site inspections and monitor system performance.
Perform diagnostics, system testing, and trend analysis to verify operational integrity.
Carry out scheduled servicing and preventive maintenance routines.
Collaborate in managing facility operations within a high-reliability environment.
Promote energy efficiency and system reliability through proactive oversight.
Take on other operational duties as required to support facilities uptime and performance.
Requirements
A diploma, degree, or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related engineering field.
Background in mechanical or electrical systems, with formal technical training.
Experience working in critical environments such as data centers, healthcare, or industrial facilities is strongly preferred.
Proficiency in either electrical or mechanical systems, with solid knowledge of the other discipline.
Familiar with infrastructure such as uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), chillers, switchgear, fire protection systems, and emergency power.
Strong focus on service quality, teamwork, and professionalism in responding to stakeholder needs.
Confident communicator with the ability to manage complex issues both verbally and in writing.
