This role is responsible for the overall management and functionality of a data center facility, including both the building itself and the technical equipment it houses. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical knowledge, communication skills, and experience to effectively oversee daily operations, preventive maintenance, and emergency response situations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the building and data center, including monitoring and reporting on various systems (Building Management System, Energy Management System, Fire Detection & Protection, Chillers, Electrical Systems, etc.)
- Oversee preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment is serviced and maintained according to schedule.
- Maintain detailed documentation of facility and equipment maintenance activities.
- Generate monthly reports on equipment uptime, power usage, and temperature readings to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Respond to emergency situations and be available for 24/7 standby duty if necessary.
- Participate in new data center projects, renovations, and maintenance of existing facilities.
- Manage site inspections and audits conducted by external authorities.
- Schedule and track service jobs, manage vendor relationships, and ensure high levels of customer service.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Building/Facility Management or a related field.
- Ideally 1-2 years of experience in a relevant field.
- Broad knowledge and skills in building technology, mechanical and electrical services, and facilities management.
- Experience in data center facility management and vendor interaction.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Project management experience is a plus.
- Strong ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
