About Our Client

Our client is a reputable International Freight Forwarding & Integrated Logistics Solutions MNC. With long legacy of experience, they offer a wide range of services to meet the complex and diverse needs of its customers. They are looking for a Vice President of Pharmaceutical Sales to spearhead one of their most crucial verticals for the APAC markets.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Reporting to the SVP, they are currently on an active look out for a suitable candidate where:

Sales & Market Growth

  • You will be responsible to grow the topline and healthy Gross Profit of the regional customer network, and strategic business planning to develop one of the most important verticals globally.
  • You will create scalable and sustainable commercial initiatives that yield profitable expansion across the company's network and service offerings. This includes setting and achieving personal customer portfolio goals.
  • You will also need to share your knowledge of industry trends and market drivers related to modes, products, services, pricing, and sectors that may impact strategic planning or execution.
  • You will work with the Products team and other necessary functions to implement strategies that boost customer / key account retention and expand the share of customer satisfaction

Financial Planning

  • You will establish, review, and execute revenue, gross profit, and cost budgets.
  • You will also ensure cost control measures are effectively applied to manage expenses.

Team Management & Leadership:

  • You will lead the creation and implementation of programs and tools that foster the vertical's growth and enhance accountability, institutional learning, and efficient management of pharma and healthcare clients.
  • You will deploy strategies for recruiting, onboarding, and developing top industry talent. Build a high-performance team that values service excellence, quality, continuous improvement, and a proactive mindset.
  • You will ensure all team members are guided through their Professional Excellence Plan and conduct quarterly progress evaluations.
  • You will enhance team skills through ongoing training and reinforcement strategies, and develop outstanding succession planning methods.

Marketing Strategy:

  • You will work with cross-functional leaders to execute strategies to increase vertical brand recognition and distinguish the organization within the market.
  • You will enhance credibility and reputation as a knowledge-based service provider by organizing customer education forums and focus groups.
  • You will collaborate with the Marketing Department to outline parameters for targeted marketing campaigns and lead generation. Define the vertical value proposition and positioning strategy.

Tactical Responsibilities:

  • You will develop and implement annual plans to meet revenue, gross profit, and other commercial targets both internally and with clients, in collaboration with EVPs, Sales Regional VPs, Account Management, Global, and Regional Products.
  • You will oversee the alignment and effectiveness of tools and programs used to support Verticals, Account Management, Transition & Implementation, and RFQ Management.
  • You will provide strategic direction for customer-facing resources to maximize sales revenue and gross profit.
  • You will monitor customer activity and manage relationships for potential additional projects.
  • You will collaborate closely with operations, product management, transition and implementation, and account management teams to ensure efficient and effective account acquisition, onboarding, and business maintenance.

Candidate Profile

Our ideal candidate will be one who has most of the below criteria:

  • Ideally Bachelor's Degree or Masters in a relevant field e.g. Business Administration, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Finance
  • Excellent knowledge of business models, objectives, financial metrics, etc. used in decision-making
  • 8 years or more of sales leadership in the freight forwarding industry
  • Excellent relationships and knowledge of the Pharmaceutical and/or Life Sciences and/or Healthcare industry
  • Displayed excellent track record of leadership responsibilities
  • Proven ability to define a regional or multi-location sales strategy.
  • Willingness and Ability to travel (primarily within a region) for work
